In April 2019, a panel convened by the Canadian Association for Teacher Education (CATE) at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Conference will be discussing a recent paper on school-based research centres, like Eureka! Research Institute @ UTS.

Authored by  Mira Gambhir (Chandaria Research Centre, Branksome Hall), David Montemurro (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto), Angela Vemic (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto & The Eureka! Research Institute @ University of Toronto Schools, University of Toronto Schools ), and Kathy Broad (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto), the paper looks at how school-based research centres offer an innovative model for aligning research and practice in the field of education.

Specifically, the paper looks at how school-based research centres advance teacher education for global citizenship and benefit the decentralization of traditional sources of research production.
